It comes from the oddest places. The last two posts have been about storytelling and characters, and were directly inspired by  a series of conversations I’ve been having bout whether or not stories and characters were explicitly gendered.

Now, of course, someone always tries to being up pregnancy as something that is gendered. My answer to that is that the story of becoming a parent is always individualized. But what I didn’t point out was that there is a whole trope dedicated to men getting pregnant, Mr Seahorse, or that male pregnancy is something science is actually experimenting with.

However, the idea of getting a man pregnant made me chuckle, and that chuckle lead to a little daydream… and now I have at least one story of the next Mina and Matty series.

Inspiration is a weird thing.
