It’s time for the monthly airing of insecurities!
*Kate, you’re a day early…*
Yes, logical self I know, but I have a blog hop tomorrow, and I hate posting twice in one day. So, here we go:
I’m not selling any stories. It’s super frustrating.
At first, I told myself, it’s because I’m writing a series. Well now the series is finished, and I’m still not selling.
So I told myself its the key search words. Two solid weeks of futzing with that… and I’m still not selling.
I’m on Goodreads, I have a regularly updated author’s blog, where I regularly post links to my work. I’m on twitter, facebook, pinterest, AND tumblr!
Even my giveaways aren’t doing so well.
And while I know that logically, books can take time to build up word of mouth… it’s frustrating, and disheartening. I see people talking about my work on social media. It’s not like the few who have read aren’t talking about it.
Kate! Your work is good, and I love your characters. I’m no expert, but I’ve been to enough conventions and the like over the decade to zero it on a possible problem (to me, anyway.) And this is only my opinion, but consider giving the covers a complete makeover. Covers are the gateway, and what catches a reader’s eye.

It just might be the season. I’ve noticed a lot of books are selling well right now. I guess with summer and vacations, people are busy doing other things. Just keep moving forward and keep promoting – and keep writing. And don’t lose heart!
